I haven't even seen all the Fall bags yet and it doesn't really matter cuz I am all set and decided for; These are the 2 bags I want. I knew I should not have gone to the Bottega Veneta Fall trunk show because I can never resist the Bottega temptation, but I HAD to, you know for work =) The manager at Rodeo Drive showed me around and I did a once over before I asked to see the crocodile tote and she was like, "I was wondering how long it would take you to spot that". It is truly the creme de la creme of any Bottega Veneta ever made. The shape is classic, simple and versatile, even a bit on the younger side, which is great. The skin is so soft and pliable, the most incredible and pristine crocodile I've ever seen. There is one man at Bottega who cuts all the exotic skin, he is the only person to have ever cut all the exotic skin for Bottega since its inception and he is now in his 60's. When he is sick, the worldwide production of exotic bags come to a halt. You can tell this man is OCD. The other bag that fulfills the other end of the spectrum is embellished and fun. The pleated origami karung is intricately folded into ribbons. The handle is ostrich and the base is woven leather. The sides of the bag folds and converts to a whole new trapezoid shape bag that looks a bit vintage but totally cute!! Serious love going on here. I am most happy to see the optimism of a Fall collection that is decadent and ornate. The crocodile is $26,500 and the pleated ribbon karung is $5500. Hi Bag Snob,
Great blog! I have been reading it as my bedtime reading everyday for the last two weeks, and drift to dreamland in a good mood indeed. I have a quick query. Like a previous reader, I'm looking for a black leather bag with gold or brass hardware for this Fall. But being quite petite, I don't want to look overpowered by a huge bag. I have been eyeing the Coffer, The Stam, The Muse, and The Paddington. My budget is around US$1,500.00 and I really want something with snob appeal, that will be sort of a classic, last me a while, and won't look totally last season. It also has to be something that will take me from day to night. What do you suggest? Is it too late to buy thePaddington?

This year, I received the most fabulous request, a husband who not only wanted a great bag for his wife, but a husband who insists that the bag be none other than the highly coveted Hermes Birkin! Now that's what I call a keeper :) After many phone calls and visits to Hermes in Beverly Hills, New York, and Highland Park, I finally found one that is perfect for his wife. In a divine shade of Vert Fonce (a very rare and hard to get color) with palladium hardware, this is agem that I thought of keeping for myself. (You'd think with six birkins and two kelly bags I'd be satisfied but Hermes is a like a drug and it is never enough, I think it's something they put into the leather that's so addictive.) Of course I did the right thing and sent the birkin off to it's new owner's anxious husband. I know it is going to a good home and I'll be able to visit often. :)herve leger

I love Lodis accessories! They make the cutest small leather goods and they are so practical too! I especially love their framed clutch wallets, they make switching your things from one bag to the next a snap! But today, I was surprised to learn that Lodis also makes handbags. Handbags? Really? Yep! And here’s your proof… introducing the Lodis Synergy Lysette Satchel! Oddly enough though, this bag looks nothing like the small leather goods I have come to know and love from this brand. If I had not seen who this bag was made by, I would have sworn it was by Olivia Harris (Joy Gryson’s more “affordable” handbag line). Not that that is a bad thing, it was just very surprising for me. Once the initial shock had worn off though, I found that the bag was beginning to grow on me. The shrunken leather gives this bag such a nice “broken in” look, as if you had been carrying it for many years. It’s a casual bag that would look great paired with jeans. I love the overall shape of the bag, but I feel like it wouldn’t be very appropriate as a shoulder bag. The straps would be too short if you were wearing something bulky, like a coat.
